Tourism Promotion Event


As part of its State promotion activity, Consulate organised a tourism promotion event at Tulsi Restaurant on 14 December 2018 focussing on the two States of Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. The event was attended by senior members of the UP and Bengali community in Sao Paulo as also special invitees including couple of senior members of the Indian community, the Indian Association of Sao Paulo, officials of the State,  prominent tour operators and members from the print and audio visual media as well as Brazilian friends of India. A small cultural programme was also organised after which a full presentation on the two States from a tourism perspective was made by Ms. Cristiane Cury from IndoAsia Tours.

Inaugurating the event by lighting the traditional lamp and the Peace mantra, Consul General Vijay Singh Chauhan spoke on the significance of the two States and also on the forthcoming Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas 2019. He highlighted the significance of the two States and spoke, among others, about the
tourism friendly steps taken by India as well as the facilitation of eVisa. Mr. Shobhan Saxena, President of the Indian Association in Sao Paulo also spoke on the occasion. Senior members from the UP and West Bengal community also spoke on the occasion and shared their experience in and similarities between India and Brazil. Ms. Ratnabali Adhikari presented a celebrated song of Rabindranath Tagore accompanied by a dance performance by Ms. Aparaupa. Kathak exponent Ms. Gayaneshree also gave a sterling performance of a Kathak dance. This was following by a detailed and exciting power point presentation on tourism prospects in the two States of UP and West Bengal by Ms. Cristiane Cury of Indo Asia Tours which was well appreciated.
