            Government of India will be organising the 2nd Edition of the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz 2018-19 in September 2018.  The Quiz is envisaged to motivate overseas Indian youth to develop interest and to know and understand India. 

            The live web portal of the 2nd edition of Bharat Ko Janiye is which features the Guidelines and Rules apart from other relevant information including Model Test and FAQs.

            The BKJ Quiz will be held online for two categories of PIO & NRI aged between 15 to 35 years.  The quiz is open to foreign nationals also.   The cut off date for registration for participation in the quiz is till 15 September 2018. Registration on the Portal is mandatory by eligible contestant.  There is no entry fee.

             The 1st round of Quiz will be open for registered contestants in both modes i.e. online and onsite. In case of online participation, contestants may appear in  the Quiz from anywhere from 16-30 September, 2018 (local time) and in case of onsite, contestants have to physically appear in the test which will be conducted in Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (Alameda Sarutia 380, Jardim Paulista).  Once registered, the participant may send a mail to for further advice).
            {Note: 1st round of quiz will contain 30 multiple choice objective type questions to be answered in maximum of 25 minutes without any negative marking. However, for onsite candidates they can submit their answers before the time limit of 25 minutes if they wish to do so by writing the Registration number and the time on the answer sheet at the time of submitting the answer sheet. While evaluating the question papers the time taken to answer the questions will be accounted for}.

            The Quiz will be conducted in 4 rounds.  The first round of the Quiz will be conducted online by the Consulate. The second round will be conducted online by the Ministry of External Affairs and the third and final round will be conducted in New Delhi.

            Three finalists from each of the NRI and PIO/OCI and foreign national category in the first round conducted will move to the subsequent rounds. All participants, including top 10 finalists in the foreign national category, who make it to the Third and Fourth rounds will be invited to India. Besides the Quiz, they will not only attend a workshop in Delhi but also participate in the ‘Bharat ko Janiye Yatra’ - a 15-day tour of India. Top three winners of the Fourth (final) round of BKJ Quiz 2019 from each category will receive Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and a Certificate at the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD) Convention, in January 2019 at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
