Updation of Passport Details in OCI Card

All OCI Cardholders are required to update the passport particulars on the online system under OCI Miscellaneous Services whenever a new passport is issued. The procedure for updation is as follows:

1. Visit OCI Services Portal

2. Select and fill the application under “OCI Miscellaneous Services – Updation of Passport”

3. Upload clear colour copies of the following documents:

    (a) OCI Card
    (b) Latest Photograph and Signature
    (c) Old Passport
    (d) New Passport
    (e) In case of Foreign Spouse OCI Cardholders:
         (i) Joint declaration of subsisting marriage
         (ii) Copy of Indian passport of Indian spouse or Passport and OCI card of the Indian origin spouse  
     (f)Any other supporting documents, if required

4. Submit the online application. Submission of physical documents at the Consulate is not required. The application will be processed by the Consulate through the backend system.

5. The updation process generally takes approximately 30 days to complete.

OCI Cardholders are advised to ensure timely updation of passport details in their OCI card. In case the request for updation is submitted after three months from the date of issuance of the new passport, a penalty fee will be applicable as below:

The receipts for payment of the penalty fee must be sent to passport.saopaulo@mea.gov.in via email along with the OCI application ID for verification and processing.
